Fredericton offers some great places to dine this weekend...

Ah...Labour Day weekend.

Summer is almost over but that doesn't mean good food will be leaving us anytime soon.

I recently visited two of my favourite New Brunswick restaurants. These restaurants would be Racines and BrewBakers in Fredericton.

Each time I visit Racines I am reminded of how dining in Fredericton has signficantly improved since I was a child. This restaurant is one of the best additions to New Brunswick culinary scene in recent years. Operated by a Fredericton native and a chef from British Columbia, Racines welcomes each customer with a great atmosphere as well as warm service and great food.

Let's look at a few examples...

The Seafood Pasta at Racines is a delicious adventure for the tastebuds and a real treat for the seafood lover. This dish is filled with mussels, shrimp and scallops as well as fantastic pasta. A few additional touches makes the dish one-of-a-kind and a superb match with any one of the great wines at Racines.

The Lobster Risotto is also a wonderful dish. Add a nice wine and your tastebuds will thank you. But this dish is also great with other drinks. It is really, really good.

BrewBakers is another restaurant that I always look forward to visiting.

The restaurant offers a delightful interior, a warm atmosphere, friendly service and a great menu.

Some of my favourite dishes at BrewBakers are the pizzas. They are simply delicious. It is a an experience you really must try for yourself.

I also enjoy the wraps, sandwiches and steaks. They offer great flavour and are not boring.

Some of my other favourites in Fredericton are Chocolaterie and Patisserie Fackelman featuring The Schnitzel Parlour, the Kings Head Inn and the Snooty Fox.

With a long name, Chocolaterie and Patisserie Fackelman featuring The Schnitzel Parlour is simply one of New Brunswick best experiences. This restaurant will make you feel like you have left New Brunswick for the heart of Germany with its unique atmosphere, friendly service and delicious European influenced food. From cakes to schnitzel, the menu is amazing.

The Kings Head Inn also provides you with a unique experience each time you visit. The menu and unique hospitality makes you feel like you are visiting family.

The Snooty Fox is a legend in Fredericton. Great drinks, great atmosphere and a nice menu.

These are some of my favourites but there are many fantastic restaurants in Fredericton. With more than 90 establishments to choose from in Fredericton today, why not enjoy the variety this city has to offer for yourself?

My husband and I walked in the Snooty Fox last week for supper. There was a pungent musty smell so powerful we couldn't even stay long enough to be seated.

The best place in Fredericton to eat by far is a quaint little spot called Shawn Graham's kitchen. Caviar, lobster, fillet mignon, you name it. Just show your tax forms at the door and pray you get in!
