159 HOW CAN I?

159 HOW CAN I?

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Everyone that is asked to give or do something by anyone else, be it their wife, children, boss, police, friend, neighbour, stranger or the bum on the street, must answer this question.

Some think negative thoughts and answer ‘I can’t’ and leave it at that; having satisfied their mind and heart that it was impossible for them to do.

Some think negative thoughts and answer ‘I can’t’ but, later, think of a way that it can be done but are comfortable that the situation is over and go on their way not having changed anything.

Some think negative thoughts and answer ‘I can’t’ and, later, think of a way that it can be done and turn back to change their answer and try to do what was asked.

Some think both negative and positive thoughts and struggle to answer positively but fail and answer in the negative, again ‘I can’t’.

Some think both negative and positive thoughts and struggle to answer positively and succeed in finding a positive answer.

Some think positive thoughts and fail to find the right answer and give a negative ‘I can’t’.

Then there are those that think positive thoughts and don’t stop until they get the successful answer that they wanted.

There is always a positive answer to anything that is asked of us even if we have to tell the requester ‘no’. It is not because we cannot do it, it is because we do not want to do it, see that it is not the proper thing to do or have been told not to do it be someone in authority in our lives.

By now, you know where I am going with this.

Phi 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The key words here are ‘through Christ’. There is not anything that cannot be done but our master must be the one to tell us how, when and where it will and can be done.

Jesus never failed in anything that He did; there were some times when the answer was ‘no’ however.

Many times He took the requester somewhere else and did physical things to him that were quite out of place. [Like placing mud mixed with spit on a man’s eyes so he could see.] He literately spit in that man’s face and also seemed to call one woman a ‘dog’.

He was pushing at their pride to see if what they wanted was important enough for them to stick with it until they got what they wanted and if their faith in His ability to give it was strong enough to last through the seemingly insults and rejection.

Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

As a servant of my master, Jesus Christ, there is not anything that I cannot do. There are many things that I won’t do, many things that I am not asked to do and most things that people DO NOT BELIEVE that I can do.

There is the key for receiving in today’s world but no one will believe God’s people when they speak the words that God tells them to.

Blog: Always Learning

Hi. I am Stephen Porter; a Christian who is also a normal everyday working person. I have been a Christian for over 30 years. God has gone to a great deal of trouble to let us know Him intimately and to help us understand His way of doing things, so this blog is simply my attempt to help you know and understand God in today's ordinary world. I will not argue with anyone but I will try to expand on your understanding by answering as many questions as my time will allow.
