Visitor restrictions remain in place at Chalmers hospital
It will be Tuesday before officials at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital decide whether to lift restrictions imposed on a ward hit by a virus.
The hospital has a number of cases of a gastrointestinal virus among patients in 3 Southwest, which includes internal medicine, family practice and cardiac care.
The following restrictions are in place: only two visitors per patient; children should stay at home; and anyone experiencing nausea, vomiting or diarrhea shouldn't visit.
Hand sanitizer is available and should be used by those entering and leaving the unit.
"We haven't seen any new patients with symptoms in the last two days. The patients that have been showing symptoms are starting to feel better," said hospital spokeswoman Melissa Jewett.
Oromocto plans more talks with Gallery Connexion
The Town of Oromocto says it wants to meet with members of Gallery Connexion to discuss the possibility of the gallery moving to the community.
Town council recently decided it was unable to provide $15,000 in direct financial assistance requested by the gallery for the move.
"Council has offered that the director of leisure services and tourism meet with the organization to make a sincere effort to accommodate their needs," said town spokeswoman Cindy Abbott.
Gallery Connexion has been without a permanent home since the spring floods forced it out of its location at the back of the Justice Department on Queen Street.
Gallery members hope to be in a new home when they celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2009 - the same year Fredericton will celebrate its designation as a Cultural Capital of Canada.
Bucko error costs lottery commission some cash
The Atlantic Lottery Corp. says it will honour two sets of winning numbers for Monday night's bucko draw after it published an incorrect winning number.
The error occurred after a number in the Bucko draw was incorrectly entered into the lottery system - an 8 was typed instead of a 9. The numbers have now been updated and the correct winning numbers are: 9, 14, 17, 20 and 39.
The error impacts 3,849 winning selections and totals a prize pool of $9,099. Both sets of winning numbers will be honoured.
Players who believe they may have had a winning ticket and discarded it or have redeemed their ticket for a prize that they believe may now be higher, should contact the lottery corporation at 1-800-561-3942.
They will need to provide some information about when and where the ticket was purchased. Tickets purchased online will be automatically credited.
The prizes range from free tickets to one prize of $1,000, and 138 of those selections are from PlaySphere. The $1,000 winning ticket was sold in Prince Edward Island.
The corporation said the error occurred as a result of human error and a followup is being done internally to review and take appropriate action.
