Two Fredericton residents arrested more than a year ago in a drug investigation admitted to possession offences Monday.
Diane Marie Stafford, 45, of 210 Sunset Dr. was scheduled to stand trial in provincial court Monday on Aug. 17, 2007, charges of possession of cocaine and Dilaudid for the purpose of trafficking. Instead, she changed her pleas to guilty on the drug possession charges.
Joseph Jean Baptiste Bussiere, 47, also of 210 Sunset Dr. changed his plea to guilty on a related Aug. 17, 2007, charge of personal possession of cocaine.
Crown prosecutor Hilary Drain withdrew counts of possession of the proceeds of crime, though a total of $2,345 seized from the pair at the time of their arrests was forfeited to the Crown.
Sentencing was set over to March 17 to allow for the preparation of pre-sentence reports for both defendants.
