A5

A Fredericton man scheduled to stand trial on drug-related charges instead opted to admit to several crimes.

Christopher James Arbeau changed his pleas to guilty to Feb. 28, 2008, charges of possession of marijuana and Fentanyl, a painkiller more powerful than morphine, as well as a count of possession of the proceeds of crime.

He also pleaded guilty to a July 31, 2008, count of possession of unmarked tobacco.

Arbeau had been charged with possession of Dilaudid for the purpose of trafficking, but he pleaded guilty to the lesser, included charge of personal possession.

Sentencing was set over to Oct. 27 to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
