Exercise | Canadian Forces Base Gagetown Combat Training Centre Infantry School to do training in the downtown area

A fake kidnapping will be part of a military training exercise in Fredericton on Wednesday as members of the Combat Training Centre Infantry School at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown conduct a day-long training exercise.
The military personnel will be dressed as civilians. The role playing incident, in which an individual is forced into a vehicle, will take place on Queen Street between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Kings Place, NB Power and the city hall clock tower are other training locations. The military is cautioning members of the public not to telephone police if they see the event unfold.
A similar training exercise a couple of years ago - not advertised in advance to the public - caused numerous citizens to telephone 9-1-1 to report an abduction.
Participants in the exercise won't be carrying weapons.
