Re: Leo Hayes High School career day
The students of Leo Hayes High School recently had the unique opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career options presented by those who know about the world of work.
Over 80 members of the community volunteered their time to talk to our students about the work they love and the education and training required to be successful.
Students were able to choose three sessions to attend from over 120 offered and benefitted from the knowledge and experience of those who are passionate about their work.
To those that participated, and the organizations that supported their participation, we cannot thank you enough for your contributions.
Our students benefitted from your expertise and enthusiasm as they discovered the many learning and career opportunities available to them.
On behalf of the students of Leo Hayes High School, we wish to thank all those who took time out of their busy schedules to share their career journey and experience with us.

We own it, but we don't have any say in its future
Re: Sale of NB Power
This is addressed to Premier Shawn Graham:
You were hired by the people of New Brunswick to do a job.
The purpose of any job is to be productive and help the business succeed. I ask you this question: Do you feel you have done what you were hired to do?
I and many fellow New Brunswickers feel at this point that you have not. From health care to education and of course NB Power, you have let unqualified individuals make unproductive and irrational decisions, time after time, with complete disregard for the people who hired you.
By doing so, you have affected the health and educational well-being of New Brunswickers for years to come. What you have done is waste billions and burdened us with hidden taxes.
Problems at NB Power may have been prevented. Executives and management were allowed to operate for years with unprofessional behaviour and inexcusable decisions while being paid staggering incomes. This should not have been tolerated.
As taxpayers New Brunswickers own NB Power, but we do we not have a say in its future.
Some of us have had enough Mr. Graham. No decisions must be made at NB Power without all information concerning operations and financial matters being readily available to the taxpayers of New Brunswick.
At this point we must ask, do you have something to hide?
We must not let this political behaviour continue. NB Power was our most valuable asset, and it can be again.
It is time New Brunswickers got rid of those who haven't done their job.
If you expect us to believe that the sale of NB Power to Hydro-Quebec will be to our benefit, you must open up all the books and let New Brunswickers decide, through honest information and the democratic process.
We must have the right to vote on this matter. Our survival as a free nation depends on it.

What if Quebec separates?
Re: Sale of NB Power
I am a Canadian living in the province of Québec.
I was stunned when I heard about the New Brunswick power deal with Québec. If I were living in New Brunswick, I would urge my government never to sign a deal with the province of Québec until its constitutional position is defined and definitive.
If Québec ever separated from the rest of Canada, which is always a possibility, you would be very unhappy to have such a contractual agreement with a foreign country.
Best of luck to you guys.
