* Marysville is one of Fredericton's oldest, most historic areas.

* The Marysville Cotton Mill, now a provincial government office, sits at the heart of the former town now designated a national historic site.

* The ward takes in all of Canada Street to the city limits and includes residences on both sides of the Nashwaak River.

* Marysville's reputation for having a high number of retirees is now being offset by major development growth in new subdivisions over the past four years.

* The ward has 2,578 eligible voters.

* In the May 2004 municipal election, two candidates contested the ward and a total of 1,444 votes were cast.
