BOIESTOWN
The mayor and four councillors of Rural Community of Upper Miramichi will take on their council duties after being sworn into public office next week.
The public is invited to the swearing in ceremony Monday at 7 p.m. at the Central New Brunswick Woodmen's Museum.
STANLEY
A spring sale of clothing for nursing home residents or individuals with limited mobility and special needs will take place throughout the day Sunday at Nashwaak Villa.
STANLEY
May 30 is track and field day at Stanley Elementary. Winners of the grades 3-5 events will attend the district meet in Fredericton on June 6.
MINTO
A total of 33 students from grades 6 to 8 at Minto Elementary Middle School presented the play Goofus and the Golden Goose at the recent New Brunswick Provincial Drama Festival.
The production was the 50th student play directed by vice-principal Roseveldt Sivitilli.
"Drama teaches dedication, commitment, and team work," Sivitilli said. "I stress that the students involved interact like a family, interdependent on each other. We really try to give them confidence as well."
TRACY
Christopher Golden won the New Brunswick Provincial Archery competition recently in the under-14 age division.
He also competed for the province at the Canada Winter Games last year in Whitehorse.
GAGETOWN
Gagetown School is hosting a night of environmental science today from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Science East will be hosting a number of hands-on science displays, and local environmental groups will be manning displays and providing information about their organizations and programs.
