Here comes the bride?

HALIFAX - Alex Jewers is a groom-to-be with a "worst-case scenario" on his hands.
Jewers, his fiancee Angela Barrett, and seven members of their wedding party planned to fly with Zoom Airlines to Scotland for a destination wedding in October.
Now the wedding plans are up in the air after Zoom Airlines suspended operations Thursday, citing financial woes.
"It was a honeymoon-wedding with our family and friends so it's sort of a double whammy," Jewers said shortly after learning about the grounded fleet.
"It's kind of a nightmare right now."
The Dartmouth, N.S., man was golfing Thursday afternoon when his brother called his cell phone to tell him about the airline's sudden shutdown.
He said the wedding party spent upwards of $7,000 in total on their plane tickets, and he's scrambling to find out if they can get that money back.
"We're in the process now of contacting the credit card company and finding out what type of insurance we have through Visa," Jewers said, adding he's also put in a call to the airlines.
"What I'm thinking right now is that we're not going to be able to recoup our money and our wedding in Scotland is going to be cancelled."
More than 200 Zoom passengers were stranded at the Halifax airport on Thursday after baggage handlers apparently refused to load Zoom's aircraft because their company hasn't been paid.
Zoom officials say the economic downturn and rise in the price of aviation fuel made it impossible for the Ottawa-based company to continue operations.

Those poor people stranded. Upcomming nuptuals cancelled. I hope something can be done to help them.
This seems like a rather simple idea to alleviate passenger woes but obviously too complicated for the simple minds that run the industry.
