WASHED ASHORE: Const. Gary Fraser, right, of the Cape Breton Regional Police and Scott Macdonald of Glace Bay, N.S., look over a sperm whale found on the shoreline in the area of the former no. 26 Colliery in Glace Bay on Friday. Provincial wildlife biologist Terry Power says it's uncommon to see sperm whales float up on shore, because they usually stay in deeper water off shore.
