JEWEL-STUDDED WINDOW: Everyone is in the Christmas spirit including some of the merchants downtown. Kim Dow, Bejewel gallery manager, adjusts some of the jewelry used as decoration in their window display at their Queen Street Store.

@theplayhouse Kidstage Series presents A Christmas Carol - DuffleBag Theatre, Dec. 28 at 3 p.m. and Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.

Charlotte Glencross Gallery

Radiance Artists Group, a collection of nine artists are joining to present Contrasts at the Charlotte Glencross Gallery Dec. 1 to Jan. 15.

The exhibition showcases paintings, photographs, collages and clay art by Jennifer Allaby, Lorna Drew, Andrea Benitez Lazzarotto, Sandi McKessock, Heather McTiernan, Anita Newling, Stephanie Robicheau, Rita Sassani and Amanda Trizna. The gallery is located at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, 734 Charlotte St.

Holiday recital

Fredericton Soprano, Maureen Batt and Mezzo Soprano, Vicki St. Pierre are joining forces to spread Christmas cheer in a holiday recital, Home For Christmas on Sunday at Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 512 Charlotte St. at 7:30 p.m. They will be accompanied by Tara Scott who is currently the music director for the Maritime Concert Opera, Halifax Summer Opera Workshop and Acadia's Singing Theatre Ensemble. Admittance by donation at the door.

Unsilent Night

Gallery Connexion, Motion Ensemble, and Ingrid Mueller Art Concepts today at 7 p.m. sharp at Ingrid Mueller Art Concepts, 117 York St. are pleased to present Unsilent Night, by New York composer Phil Kline. Each participant carries an ordinary boombox playing a separate cassette or CD that becomes part of the piece. Performed within the confines of Fredericton's city streets, Unsilent Night reverberates off the cars and buildings, resulting in a magnificent, drifting cloud of shimmering, echoing sound. Admission $2 or free with a food bank donation.

NB Crafts Council

NB Crafts Council Gallery will hold a Christmas reception and open house on Saturday, noon - 5 p.m. Enjoy refreshments, cider and holiday music. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser support the gallery's efforts to purchase professional lighting to showcase New Brunswick fine crafts.

Beaverbrook Art Gallery

The Beaverbrook Art Gallery will be closed all day on Christmas Day. 50th anniversary New Year's Levee will be held on Jan. 1, 12 - 2p .m. At 1 p.m. the presentation the First 50 Years: Memories from the Beaverbrook Archives will be unveiled. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery will be open during these hours only on New Year's Day.
