Scoutrees
Scoutrees is a local and national fundraising and conservation effort by Scouts Canada. Each year, hundreds of thousands of trees are planted coast to coast by members of the scouting movement.
Co-ordinator Doug Prosser has arranged a tree planting site in the UNB Woodlot for May 30. Groups are asked to meet at the Hugh John Fleming Forestry Centre at 9:30 a.m. Groups planning on planting in their area may contact Prosser to obtain trees through the Department of Natural Resources if they wish.
Rivorton Groups are asked to contact Doug Prosser at 451-8887, email dpkp@nbnet.nb.ca with their intentions for the May 30th Rivorton Area Planting at UNB or if they wish to conduct their own event and require trees.
Work Party at Yoho
A work party is planned for June 13 at the Yoho Scout Reserve and all leaders, Venturers, Rovers and parents are invited to come and help with this important project.
A list was accomplished by the recent work party. The new boathouse is operational and the old boathouse has been emptied, cleaned out and made useful again. The roof was made watertight on the old portion of the lodge and lumber has been moved and stacked inside.
