Gallery 78

The 90th birthday celebration exhibition of Joseph Plaskett continues at Gallery 78. These works, like all of Plaskett's paintings, demonstrate an interesting combination of compositional interests. At once exploring the flatness and empty space Plaskett learned from Hans Hofman, Joe's art also demonstrates the value and artistic significance of embodying artistic exploration in representations of table settings, plant life and the landscape of still life composition. The collection of 13 oils and 9 pastels continues to expand and develop themes Plaskett has been working on for his entire career. The exhibition runs until May 25.

Also on display in the gallery new work from Paul Healey, Ann Balch, Nancy Holt and Ravenglass Studios along with the broad range of our many excellent Maritime artists.

Visit www.gallery78.com or at the corner of Church and Queen Streets at 796 Queen St. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 - 4 p.m.
