
Calithumpians wrap up summer season with special Labour Day performances

Fredericton's Calithumpian troupe is finishing up its season of performances with a series of shows this weekend.
The Calithumpians' shows are held in Officers Square and are staged in partnership with the annual Craft Fair. There is no admission charge.
On Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m., see Who Wrote the Rights? - a tribute to the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and their main writer, New Brunswick's own John Peters Humphrey.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., the troupe will present This Spud's for You! in celebration of International Year of the Potato.
On Labour Day, the troupe hosts its season finale with a double bill starting at 2 p.m.: Greener Demeanour, promoting better environmental stewardship; followed by Wishing Wellness, which encourages healthy lifestyle choices.
The Labour Day finale will feature giveaways and promotions on vintage Calithumpian T-shirts.
Also Friday and Saturday are the last hikes of the season, and Calithumpians host their finale special Haunted Hike on Saturday night.
The special finale Haunted Hike has extra features, with more ghosts and phantom thespians for a true hair-raising spectacle.
The hike starts at 9:15 p.m. for the Coach House at 796 Queen St.
Prices are $13 for adults and $8 for children under 12.
