Codiac Regional RCMP say a 45-year-old man was taken to hospital Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle while walking on High Street in downtown Moncton.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. near the corner of High and St. George streets, near the Harvest House shelter.

Staff Sgt. Thierry Malenfant said the man was transported by ambulance to The Moncton Hospital, where he was treated for an upper body injury. The driver was not injured and the injuries to the pedestrian are not life-threatening. There was nothing criminal in this matter and the file is concluded, Malenfant said.
