Thumbs up to everyone who had a good time celebrating the 142nd birthday of our country. We have it good here in Canada and it deserves a celebration.

Thumbs down to those who have a few drinks and then believe, mistakenly, that they can drive home. For heaven's sake, it's 2009. You know better.

Thumbs up to the many volunteers who work hard during the summer on so many festivals, celebrations, concerts, special events and activities that make our community a lively, pleasant place to be.
