Fredericton Folks On Spokes, for people 50 and up plus interested visitors to the city, will meet at 10 a.m. from the Trail Visitors Centre, on the north side of the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge, for a ride on the Penniac via the Gibson and Nashwaak Trails and further for those who wish a longer ride. Wear a biking helmet and bring drinking water.

The Fredericton SPCA is offering reduced adoption fees on all adult cats adopted on Wednesdays during August. Adult cats can be adopted for $50, including the spay or neuter procedure, microchip implants and all vaccinations. Drop by between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Oromocto Skate Park at the Kings Arrow Arena - Open: Monday to Friday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Helmets must be worn at all times when on skate equipment. Adventure Day Camp - A quality child-care program for children entering Kindergarten to entering Grade 5. The ADC operates from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Nutritional snacks and special activities are planned in accordance with weekly themes. A maximum of 30 children per week will be accepted.
