
Province fills board positions

On Wednesday, the Department of Health announced the rest of the board members for the province's two regional health authorities, as well as representatives for the New Brunswick Health Council and FacilicorpNB - the official name for the public-sector company in charge of the province's non-clinical services.
Members of the regional health authority boards will serve for terms ranging between one and five years. The boards will take office Monday.
Local representatives on Regional Health Authority B's board include Leo Burns of Miramichi, Mavis Hurley of Upper Kingsclear, Jean-Eudes Levesque of New Maryland, Wayne Roach of Aroostook and Roxanne Sappier of Tobique First Nation.
The New Brunswick Health Council will be based in Moncton and will provide residents with opportunities for input on health matters. It will also hold the health-care system accountable to residents across New Brunswick.
The health council's local representatives are Christian Couturier of Fredericton, Gwen Cullins-Jones of Florenceville, Randy Dickinson of Fredericton, Linda Duffett-Leger of Fredericton, Himanshu Mukherjee of Fredericton and Norma Sugden of Miramichi.
The council's board members will serve a term between one and three years and will begin their responsibilities Monday.
There were more than 100 applications for each of the regional health authorities and about the same number for a spot on the health council's board.
