CHIPMAN

After serving as clerk administrator for the village of Chipman for 35 years, Brenda Barton will retire today.

Barton has worked with many village councils over the years - since the 1970s when Claude "Bud" Northrup was the first mayor - and resources were limited.

In retirement, Barton plans to stay involved in village activities.

"I've always had my community in my heart," she said. "I believe in Chipman, and anything I can do for the community, I will."
