Submissions to Religion Digest must be received by Monday noon for publication on Thursday. Items can be e-mailed to the editor, Forrest Orser, at religion@dailygleaner.com, or mailed to The Daily Gleaner, P.O. Box 3370, Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5A2, or dropped off in written form at the office on Prospect Street. Include your name and a telephone contact number. Each item will be run once. Items should not be longer than 50 words.
Men's Encouragement Network breakfast
The next breakfast of the Men's Encouragement Network will be on Saturday, March 28, at First Congregational Church, 74 Morning Gate Dr. at 8:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Pastor Patrick Halferty.
Pine Grove United holding turkey dinner
The annual turkey dinner of the Pine Grove United Church will be held at the Burton Lions Club, Highway 102 in Burton, on Saturday, March 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Take-outs are available by calling 357-5852 on the day of the supper. Adults $10; children 6-12, $4, and under 6, free.
Pancake breakfast
The Wesleyan Church at Otis Drive in Nackawic is having a full pancake breakfast on Saturday, March 28, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Pancake supper
Patterson United Church, 6705 Route 101, Wirral, will have its annual pancake supper on Saturday, March 28, from 3:30-6 p.m. Adults, $7; children six to 12, $3; and under six, free. Pancakes, baked beans, sausages and dessert will be served by the men's club of the church. Wheelchair accessible.
Church of the Nazarene service
The Fredericton Church of the Nazarene's weekly Sunday service will be held March 29 at 11 a.m. Rev. Stephen Ashfield will bring the message and Reid and Iva Merritt will be providing the congregation with special music. Ethel Cameron will be at the piano. Sunday school will start at 9:45 a.m.
Women of the Bible series continues
Women of the Bible study series, sponsored by the Women's Inter-Church Council, continues on Sunday, March 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Church (Parish) Church, 245 Westmorland St., with Florence Joy Clement leading in the Exodus story of the five women who saved Moses's life.
Youth conference planned
Fire 2009, Atlantic Youth Conference, will be held from April 24-26. There will be teachings, lively music and games. All registrations before April 3 will be entered to win a early registration prize. This event is hosted by the Moncton Faith Victory Church at 857-8528.
