Matt Dillon pleads guilty to speeding and pays $828 fine

CHELSEA, Vt. - Matt Dillon had his case dismissed after pleading guilty to speeding and paying an $828 fine.

The 44-year-old actor was stopped Dec. 30 on Interstate 91 while driving 106 mph in rural Northern Vermont. Because of the excessive speed, he was also charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Prosecutor Will Porter said Monday that Dillon agreed to plead guilty to speeding in exchange for having the negligent operation charge dismissed Wednesday, which he said is common in such cases.

Dillon's lawyer, Mark Kaplan, says the plea was a fair resolution for Dillon.

Makeup, fashion gurus sue Queen Latifah

NEW YORK - A makeup artist and a fashion stylist claim in co-ordinated lawsuits that they got ugly treatment from Queen Latifah when she cheated them out of $1 million.

Celebrity cosmetology consultant Roxanna Floyd says she lost $700,000 when the rapper-actress failed to pay her for work she did between July 2005 and February 2008.

In a separate lawsuit, celebrity fashion stylist Susan Moses said she was cheated of $300,000 during the same period.

The lawsuits were filed Monday in federal court in Manhattan. Amanda Silverman, a spokeswoman for the actress whose roles in movies include Hairspray and Mad Money, says the lawsuits have no merit, but she can't comment more on pending litigation.
