Weasel regales Playhouse with tales from Hollywood
Published Wednesday September 9th, 2009

A couple hundred people laughed, cheered and groaned with comedian Pauly Shore during his performance at The Playhouse on Tuesday night.
The veteran stand-up comedian and film star - known to some as The Weasel - regaled the audience with tales of life in Hollywood, the ups and downs of his career, and some wild jokes.
Shore said he tries to cover a lot of material when he walks out on stage.
"Most people are there because of my movies - Bio-Dome, Son-In-Law," he said.
"So I share a few stories about my experiences on those films, and I talk about my life, and then I just roll with it. I let it go where it goes."
As far as his film career goes, he said there are no plans for Bio-Dome 2. He said co-star Stephen Baldwin is too busy doing "crappy" reality TV shows to shoot a sequel.
"They'd have to send me Danny Baldwin," he told the audience.
He said he tries to give the crowd the kind of show they want to see.
"Every crowd is different. You always have to shift," he said.
"I was in Windsor, Ont., (recently) and it was a rowdy, bar atmosphere. People were wild ... They didn't want to hear about my life, or stories about me growing up, or what makes me the way I am."
But the audience in Parry Sound, Ont., preferred to hear stories about what he learned from comedy greats Sam Kinison, Robin Williams and David Letterman as a child hanging out backstage at his parents' comedy club.
Shore dropped by Mexican restaurant El Burrito Loco for a bite to eat and took a short tour of the city after he arrived Monday. He also worked out at GoodLife Fitness on Prospect Street on Tuesday.
"This looks like a nice place to chill," he said. "Maybe I'll just stick around. I'll call (Los Angeles) and tell them to send everything. Get my stuff up here and settle down."
