Two hurt in accident in Ludlow

LUDLOW - An accident involving a transport truck and a fuel truck occurred on Route 8 in Ludlow at approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

A fuel truck, above, ended up on its side after an accident involving a transport truck on Route 8 on Thursday in Ludlow. The transport went off the road but remained upright. Two people were sent to hospital.

The transport truck, belonging to Sullivan’s Trucking of Blackville, was carrying a load of peat moss.

The Robinson Fuels of Doaktown truck was reported to be carrying fuel.

No spillage was reported at the time of the accident.

Both vehicles left the highway. The fuel truck ended up on its side and the transport came to rest against some trees.

The driver of the transport and a passenger in the fuel truck were taken to hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours, forcing traffic to be rerouted through Bloomfield and Porter Cove.

The Upper Miramichi Fire Department responded to the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation by District 6 RCMP.
