Two arrested after shots fired at home
Two women are facing charges after shots were fired at a residence in Sunbury County last week.
The incident happened Thursday at Hardwood Ridge, between Minto and Chipman. No one was injured in the shooting, but the shots damaged a residence.
The women have both been charged with firearms offences. One has also been charged with uttering threats.
The women, who were arrested Sunday, have both been released with court dates set for December.
Halloween fires under investigation
Fires that damaged two vacant dwellings on Halloween night are under investigation by officers from RCMP's Keswick detachment.
The first fire, reported to police at 10:22 p.m. Saturday, was on the Ward Settlement Road near Stanley. The second was reported a few hours later, at 1:12 a.m. Sunday, at 1355 Route 8.
Downed power lines create 'light show'
Police say power lines felled by high winds on Halloween night caused a light show that was seen as far away as Kingsclear and Hanwell.
"That's what started that light show," said Sgt. Don Stinger of the RCMP's Keswick detachment.
He said he saw the flashes of light while patrolling in Kingsclear and Hanwell on Saturday night.
Man charged after drug bust in Bloomfield
A 47-year-old man is facing charges after marijuana, hash oil, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized in a raid by police Friday.
The man was arrested by officers when the RCMP and the Woodstock Police Force's integrated crime-reduction unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Route 550 in the Bloomfield area.
Four sent to hospital after head-on crash
A 24-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving causing injuries after he and three other people were taken to hospital after a head-on crash Sunday evening on Route 8 in Renous.
Police say the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a northbound car crossed the centre line and struck a southbound car.
Three people in the southbound car were sent to hospital with injuries that weren't believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the northbound car was treated and released from hospital.
The man is to appear in provincial court in Miramichi at a later date to face the charge.
