Submissions to Religion Digest must be received by Monday noon for publication on Thursday. Items can be emailed to the editor, Forrest Orser, at religion@dailygleaner.com, or mailed to The Daily Gleaner, P.O. Box 3370, Fredericton, N.B., E3B-5A2, or dropped off in written form at the office on Prospect Street. Include your name and a telephone contact number. Each item will be run once. Items should not be longer than 50 words.
Gospel concert Nov. 6
The Kevin Spencer and Friends Trio and The Ascensions will give a concert on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army Citadel, 531 St Marys St, Advance tickets are available at CJRI Radio Studio, Olive Branch and The Lighthouse. Keith Young will open the concert, which is also serving as an appreciation night for CJRI Radio.
Bazaar and coffee party planned
A Christmas bazaar and coffee party will be held at St John's Anglican Church, 46 McNair Dr., Nackawic on Friday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m.to 12 noon. Bazaar tables include homebaking, crafts and 'white elephant.' For $4, the coffee party includes muffins, biscuits and coffee cakes. A free display in the church nave.
Roast pork supper
Fall roast pork supper at St. Peter's Presbyterian Church Hall, Stanley, Nov. 7 from 4-6 p.m. Adults $10, kids 12 and under $5.
Turkey supper and bazaar on Nov. 7
The Riverside United Church will hold a turkey supper and bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 3-6 p.m. at the Dumfries Fire Hall, Route 102. Menu will include turkey, dressing, potatoes, squash, peas, rolls, pies, tea aqnd coffee. Admission for supper: adults $10; 7-12, $5; 6 and under, free.
Stephanie Mainville in concert on Nov. 7
Stephanie Mainville on Nov. 7 will give two concerts at The Schnitzel Parlour. She is promoting her latest album, Out of Nowhere. Tickets for the shows are $15 and are on sale at The Schnitzel Parlour, 2785 Woodstock Rd., or by phoning 450-2520. The Schnitzel Parlour will host two pay-as-you-wish dinner settings, 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., while Mainville and her band serenade guests. Ten per cent of food sales will be donated to the Fredericton Food Bank.
Bazaar and luncheon
St. Peter's ACW will hold its annual Christmas bazaar and chicken casserole luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The luncheon will cost $8 at the door. There will also be tables of crafts, 'white elephant,' sewing, knitting and baking including preserves and candy. It is at St. Peter's Anglican Church Hall, 2385 Woodstock Rd.
Christian Action Federation
Christian Action Federation New Brunswick will hold its annual meeting at Faith Baptist Church, New Maryland, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. Dr. Sydney Grant, director of palliative at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, will discuss euthanasia. Country-gospel singers, Innis and Mary McCready. Registration $7. Lunch $8. Afternoon business session. For more information, call 472-5399.
Country gospel concert
Corbett and Crosspoint Wesleyan churches will present A Taste of Country Sunday Sing featuring Tom and Navcy Donovan, Symonds Quartet, a live band and others on Saturday, Nov.7, at Crosspoint Church, formerly Olivet Wesleyan. Offering in support of upcoming mission trips in both churches.
Christmas supper, sale
Patterson United Church, 6705 Route 101, Wirral, will be having its annual supper and sale on Saturday, Nov. 7. Fancy work, food and fudge sale starts at 3 p.m., and bean, ham and potato scallop supper served 3:30 -6 p.m. Adults $7; children $2 and under six, free. Wheelchair accessible. Sponsored by The Ladies Aid.
Tea and bazaar
The annual Christmas tea and bazaar will be held at the Anglican Church Hall, Apohaqui on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tea is $6. Sponsored by Church of the Ascension ACW.
Remembrance services
St. Paul's Anglican
St. Paul's Anglican Church, Zealand, will hold the Royal Canadian Legion church parade and Remembrance service with Branch No. 59 Millville. on Nov. 8 at 10:45 a.m. Lunch in the hall following the service.
South Portage Baptist
South Portage Baptist Remembrance Day service at its 11 a.m. church service on Nov. 8. The Beaverbrook Branch No. 80 will be there. For more information, call Pastor Pat McAloon at 367-2982. Lunch will follow the service.
Golden Years Club
The monthly meeting of the Golden Years Club at Grace Memorial Baptist Church will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. in the parlour. All seniors are welcome for social and devotional activities.
