Several Remembrance Day services planned in area

The following Remembrance Day services will be offered in the Fredericton area over the next few days.

At 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, a ceremony will be held at the Wilmot United Church on King Street, led by members of Legion Branch No. 4.

Veterans will meet inside the church beforehand. There won't be a parade at this service.

Another Remembrance Day ceremony will be held Sunday at the Barkers Point Cenotaph at the junction of Riverside and Watters drives.

This ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday with members of Legion Branch No. 15. A procession will form at the Fort Nashwaak Motel and continue to the Cenotaph.

On Wednesday, Remembrance Day, a service will be held at the Provincial Cenotaph at the apex of Queen and King streets with members of Legion Branch No. 4, beginning at 10:15 a.m.

A parade will begin in the Campbell Close parking lot at 10 a.m. and proceed to Queen Street toward the Cenotaph.

Following the service, the procession will march up Queen Street to Officers Square. The parade will finish in front of the Carleton Street Armouries.

At 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a service will be held at the Marysville Cenotaph in Veteran's Park at the corner of Bridge and Canada Street. Members of Legion Branch No. 15 will lead the ceremony.

A parade will march from the parking lot of the Fredericton Family Resource Centre to Canada Street. The group will then turn onto Bridge Street and stop in front of the Cenotaph.

The Remembrance Day ceremony for Douglas, Bright and surrounding areas will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Cenotaph in York Centennial Park in Mactaquac.

All organized groups that are attending are asked to assemble at 10 a.m.

Light refreshments will be served at the Mactaquac Baptist Church gymnasium following the service.
