The Canada Research Chair of New Brunswick Studies will be hosting students from Renaissance College in a roundtable on self-sufficiency this week.

The discussion will be held Thursday in the Holy Cross House conference room, 101, at St. Thomas University.

Tony Tremblay, a professor at the university, will oversee the event, which is set to run from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

In the roundtable, John Valk and 22 students from his class titled, Building a New Brunswick Culture of Learning, will tackle some of the issues the provincial government's roundtable has addressed.

"The Liberal government's report on self-sufficiency and its objectives seemed to open the way for important student learning, not to mention student involvement," Valk said.

"These presentations are a way that we can hear from students in terms of what they have learned and what they can contribute to the process - to build a better province and a better future."

The public is welcome to drop in anytime between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to hear the students deliver the results of their research.
