Dump truck tips over, no injuries
Published Friday November 27th, 2009

The cause of a crash that saw a dump truck loaded with gravel tip over on Brookside Drive on Thursday morning is under investigation.
The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Thursday near the intersection with Ring Road.
While no one was injured in the single-vehicle crash, it could have been more serious, said Cpl. Tim Sowers of the Fredericton Police Force.
The driver was alone in the dump truck and was trapped after the vehicle tipped.
Diesel began leaking from the vehicle and posed a hazard.
"We're very happy someone came to aid the driver," Sowers said.
That motorist removed the windshield and helped pull the driver out.
Sowers said investigators with the city police and the Department of Public Safety's commercial vehicle enforcement unit were looking into the incident. They ruled out mechanical problems.
He said there was no word on possible charges.
The dump truck driver was on scene and speaking to investigators as the area was cleared. He declined to speak with reporters.
Traffic on Brookside Drive between Ring Road and Reynolds Street was disrupted during much of the late morning.
