TRURO, N.S. - Bill Casey said a break-in at his Truro campaign office doesn't appear to be politically motivated.

The Independent candidate in the Nova Scotia riding of Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley said the thieves were only interested in electronics and took a television and the campaign computer.

Casey issued a statement Friday assuring supporters that no personal data was stored on the stolen computer.

Casey said the break-in was discovered by a police officer at 4 a.m. on Friday doing routine checks in the area.

It's the second time in the past couple of weeks that a candidate in the riding has had a break-in.

Ten days ago, thieves broke into the home of Liberal candidate Tracy Parsons and took computers as well as other electronics.

Parsons said she thinks the break-in was a crime of opportunity.
