Donald | Earns lifetime bye into Canadian Figure & Fitness competitions

Fredericton area athletes grabbed up their share of the hardware at the New Brunswick Bodybuilding & Figure Championships, winning three out four categories in the women's figure competition, and five out of the 10 bodybuilding divisions.
Big winner in the women's figure competition was Fredericton's Teri Donald, who defeated 24 other figure competitors to win the Figure Tall class and went on to win the overall New Brunswick figure championship title.
Donald, a dental assistant and mother of two young children, has won her last two competitions, winning the Atlantic championship earlier this spring in Moncton.
Her overall provincial championship title now has provided her a lifetime bye to the Canadian National Figure & Fitness Championships. The 2009 event is scheduled to be held next summer in Vancouver, BC.
French Lake's Billy Cromwell was the other big local winner, walking away with the men's master & middleweight division titles. The 43-year-old fitness instructor at CFB Gagetown is a veteran in the sport, having competed in numerous NB Championships through the years.
Other Fredericton athletes who finished at the top of their divisions were Andrew Robichaud in the junior class, Stephen Parks in classic physique, Dennis Gullison in heavyweight, Melissa Stewart-Fleming in figure short and Barb McAloon in figure medium.
A record number of 59 New Brunswick athletes strutted and flexed to a sold-out audience at the Playhouse, with the climax coming when Saint John's Andy Briggs was crowned the overall New Brunswick bodybuilding champion.
