
Peewee Caps start 2-0

The co-host District 3 Caps are off to a 2-0 start at the second annual Buster Harvey Memorial peewee AAA hockey tournament ongoing at Willie O'Ree Place.
The Caps and Lewisville are both 2-0 in the Willie O'Ree Division, one of two eight-team divisions.
Bedford, N.S. has a win and a tie. The Moncton Hawks and Dartmouth, N.S., are 1-1 while West Prince, P.E.I., is 0-1-1.
The Nord Ouest Pionniers and TASA Ducks of Halifax are 0-2.
The Caps edged TASA 5-4 and routed Nord Ouest 7-0. Logan Estey scored twice to key the Caps' win over TASA. Sam Cameron, Nick Pellerin and Patrick Daley also scored in support of game MVP Tristan Meadows.
Calvin Ross posted the shutout and was game MVP in the Caps' win over Nord Ouest. Pellerin, Daley, Estey, Cameron, Garrett Humble, Ryan Tompkins and Adam Crowe all had a goal. Lewisville also nipped TASA 5-4 and defeated Nord Ouest 5-2.
Moncton beat Dartmouth 8-1 but lost 3-2 to Bedford. West Prince tied Bedford 2-2 but lost 7-3 to Dartmouth.
There's a three-way tie for top spot in the Danny Grant Division.
The Saint John Sea Dogs, Kennebecasis Valley Vito's and West Kent Aces are all 2-0.
The Truro Bearcats picked up a pair of ties. Acadienne-Peninsule Lynx and Chaleur Titan are both 0-1-1.
The co-host Fredericton Sunbury Transport Canadiens and Pictou, N.S., are 0-2.
The Sea Dogs beat Pictou 5-2 and Fredericton 9-1. The Canadiens also lost 6-4 to KV.
Dylan Breau had the Canadiens' lone goal in the loss to Saint John. Jeremy Wasson was between the pipes.
Josh Simpson was the losing goal for the Canadiens in their setback to KV. Logan Johnston, Connor O'Brien, Daniel Bertrand and Ben Corey each tallied for Fredericton.
The Vito's doubled Pictou 6-3.
West Kent downed Chaleur 7-1 and Acadienne-Peninsule 3-1.
Truro tied Chaleur 1-1 and Acadienne-Peninsule 2-2.
Play resumes this morning at 8 a.m. with action at 90-minute intervals at both rinks going on all day. Single games go at 6:30 and 8 p.m. tonight.
Cross-over semifinals are slated for both ice surfaces Sunday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the championship final slated for noon.
Harvey was a native of Fredericton who played 407 games in the NHL with Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars, Kansas City Scouts and the Atlanta Flames. He scored 90 goals and assisted on 118 during his career.
