TORONTO - Dwayne Roloson made 58 saves and Josh Bailey scored in overtime as the New York Islanders beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3.
The game wouldn't even have been close if not for the play of Roloson, who is enjoying a resurgent season at age 40.
Rolson made several great saves -- the most painful of which was number-52 -- a hard shot from Mikhail Grabovski that hit him directly in the mask.
Bailey ended the game with the Islanders only shot of overtime.
He took a pass from Sean Bergenheim and slammed the puck into an empty cage to bring a stunning conclusion to the evening.
Bergenheim, Jeff Tambellini and Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, who had opened a 3-0 lead.
Phil Kessel, Wayne Primeau, Niklas Hagman replied for the Maple Leafs. Islanders rookie John Taveras, who hails from the area and was the No. 1 pick in this year's NHL entry draft, also received a warm reception from the Toronto crowd.
Senators 4 Capitals 3
In Ottawa, Mike Fisher's goal 1:14 into overtime Monday night completed the Ottawa Senators' third-period comeback in a 4-3 victory over the Washington Capitals.
Fisher, who earlier in the day had been named the NHL's third star of the week after notching six points in three games last week, continued his hot play when he redirected a pass from Chris Phillips past Semyon Varlamov in the extra session.
Peter Regin also had a goal while Chris Neil and Alexandre Picard, on the power play, scored in the third period to bring the Senators back from a 3-1 deficit before a season-low crowd of 16,210 at Scotiabank Place.
Brian Elliott made 25 saves for Ottawa (12-6-3), which has won four straight games, and Filip Kuba registered three assists.
Chris Clark, Brendan Morrison and 24-year-old rookie right-winger Jay Beagle, with his first NHL goal in his fourth game, scored for the Capitals in regulation time.
Alex Ovechkin had an assist and Mike Green also set up a goal to extend his point-scoring streak to seven games, during which he has one goal and 10 assists.
Varlamov allowed more than two goals for the first time in five games. He finished with 33 saves. The Capitals (13-5-6) lost for the third straight game and fourth time in five outings. With Pascal Leclaire struggling with a lower-body injury suffered in Ottawa's last game, Elliott was given the start for Ottawa.
Predators 3 Red Wings 1
At Nashville, Martin Erat scored two goals and the Nashville Predators beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 Monday night for their sixth straight victory.
The streaking Predators finished off a five-game homestand in style and have won 10 of 12 overall.
Jason Arnott also scored a power-play goal for Nashville. Pekka Rinne, who has been in net for each game during this run, stopped 30 shots for the win.
Drew Miller scored for Detroit, which has lost three of four.
Rangers 7 Blue Jackets 4
At New York, Marian Gaborik again sparked the Rangers' offence with two goals and two assists, but this time he had lots of long-awaited help in New York's 7-4 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night.
Sean Avery also scored twice and Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves for the Rangers, who strung together seven straight goals after falling behind 2-0.
