Baseballers take on softballers for charity

It’ll be baseball vs. softball at the DQ Charity Softball Classic Monday night at Royals Field beginning at 7:30.
Members of the Fredericton Peterbilt DQ Royals of the provincial senior baseball league will take on the Silver Bullets of the Marysville Orthodox Softball League.
The teams will play a seven-inning orthodox softball game with a portion of the proceeds going to the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax as part of the DQ Miracle Treat Day. Admission will be $5 or $4 with a non-perishable food item in support of the Fredericton Food Bank.
The Silver Bullets, provincial orthodox champs a year ago, are led by sluggers Ken Brawn, former senior star Randy Bell and Bobby Despres. Other members include John Boyle, Jamie Boyle, Trent Brewer, Jason Sullivan, Bug Campbell, Kyle Mac- Donald, Trevor Bernard, Peter Mersereau and Scott Willis.
Supplementing the Bullets’ roster as part of an ‘executive challenge’ are Royals’ president Tony Hay and vice-president Kristian Dewar.
