2009 300 boasts improved HEMI engine, advanced AWD system
The Chrysler 300 has more than left its mark on the American sedan market, receiving numerous awards, accolades and praises from international media and owners alike.
A handsome and powerful machine, the 300 cleared the way for re-ignition of the American family sedan scene.
And re-ignite the scene it did. In fact, 300 is now doing battle with a new breed of family hauler from rivals Buick and Ford. The 2010 Buick Lacrosse is now on sale, as is the revamped Ford Taurus and its high-performance SHO variant.
The 300 isn't set for an update just yet -- though Chrysler has adjusted price and feature content to make their popular machine an even more appealing buy. Pricing for the 2009 Chrysler 300 range starts from $32,645, and includes a 250 horsepower V6 engine, automatic transmission and plenty of standard features.
Owners can also step into a Chrysler 300 with winter-busting All Wheel Drive (AWD) for $36,945. From 2009 and on, Chrysler AWD models get a new Active Transfer Case with Front-axle Disconnect to maximize performance of the all system while minimizing the mileage penalty associated with some other AWD systems.
Of course, the 300 is also available in '300C' trim with a 5.7 litre HEMI V8. Engineers have revamped the HEMI mill this year, and it now generates 360 horsepower in the 300C.
